Myeloid-derived suppressor cells may mediate resistance to immune checkpoint inhibition in the setting of cancer therapy. Ibrutinib has immune modulatory effects on MDSC. These data are from clinical trial correlative studies performed in patients with solid tumors treated with ibrutinib and checkpoint inhibitors.
