Cancer, acomplexdisorder marked by the aberrant proliferation of cells independent of physiological organ connections, represents a multifaceted, multi-stage, and multi-mechanistic phenomenon. Its onset, progression, and manifestation involve intricate interplays between environmental and host factors. Inherited genetic predispositions notably contribute to 5-10 percent of breast cancer and 5-13 percent of colon cancer cases. Within industrialized nations, approximately 7 percent of cancer-related deaths are linked to viral infections, 4 percent to occupational hazards, 2 percent to sunlight exposure, 2 percent to air, water, and soil pollution, and less than 1 percent to constituents in food and industrial products. This review offers a comprehensive examination of ongoing research concerning the micro-metastatic state in solid tumors.
