Supporting Data for Chinese Academic Mothers and Emergency Remote Teaching

This research describes the lived experiences of Chinese academic mothers during the COVID-19 pandemic! It presents three studies that examine how Chinese academic mothers manage work-life conflicts within a contemporary context influenced by traditional Confucian and patriarchal values, while also being shaped by neoliberal norms in Chinese higher education. Specifically, it draws on the emergency remote teaching (ERT) period triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic and explores their online course design decisions as a lens to investigate these larger issues in Chinese higher education.

本研究旨在阐述新冠疫情（COVID-19 pandemic）期间中国高校学术母亲的真实生活经历。本研究包含三项实证研究，旨在探讨在受传统儒家与父权制价值观影响、同时被中国高等教育领域新自由主义规范塑造的当代社会语境下，中国高校学术母亲如何协调工作与生活的冲突。具体而言，本研究依托新冠疫情引发的应急远程教学（emergency remote teaching, ERT）阶段，以中国高校学术母亲的在线课程设计决策为研究视角，以此剖析中国高等教育领域的上述宏观议题。
