Project 21 - Protection monitoring Household data - March 2025

Project 21 (P21) documents the ongoing protection crisis affecting displaced populations and host communities in Cameroon. The data collected confirms a worsening situation, characterized by increased violence against civilians, large-scale forced displacement, and rising food insecurity. The analyses generated by P21 serve as a critical resource for adapting humanitarian responses and refining strategies in protection, food assistance, and resilience-building. This initiative, jointly led by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the Danish Refugee Council (DRC), aimed to provide a comprehensive assessment of the affected households and key informants. The collected data plays a pivotal role in shaping humanitarian interventions, including targeted food distribution, cash assistance, and livelihood programs designed to foster self-reliance and economic inclusion. Given the sensitive nature of the information, a rigorous data anonymization process was applied using statistical disclosure control (SDC) techniques, ensuring both respondent confidentiality and dataset integrity. This anonymized dataset remains a valuable resource for humanitarian actors, policymakers, and researchers working to enhance displacement response strategies and improve the living conditions of refugee populations in Cameroon.
