Microbial diversity and functional potential of a waterflooded petroleum reservoir

This study aimed to differentiate between autochthonous and allochthonous microbial populations within a waterflooded petroleum reservoir using metagenomic analysis. Crude oil, formation water, and production water samples were sampled from the Enfield petroleum reservoir, North West Shelf, Western Australia.
