GOVERNANCE, CO-OPTION RESISTANCE & SYSTEMS EDUCATION

资源简介:
Commons-based initiatives repeatedly fail not due to lack of innovation, talent, or moral intent, but due to systemic capture that emerges once scale precedes governance. This paper argues that governance must be treated as infrastructure, not policy, and that systems thinking—particularly as articulated by Donella Meadows—provides the necessary analytical foundation for designing commons initiatives that are legible to institutions while remaining metabolically incompatible with extractive systems. The Commons Initiative is presented as a case example of a governance-first architecture that emphasizes safety inheritance, authority decay, and co-option resistance as primary design constraints.
