Data and Code for "A mountain-generated mesoscale test case from DCMIP-2025: Gap flow and vortex shedding variants"

This repository pertains to the paper 'A mountain-generated mesoscale test case from DCMIP-2025: Gap flow and vortex shedding variants'. Details about running the simulations in the Community Atmosphere Model (CAM) and additional scripts made are given in the 'CAM_code' directory. Simulation data from the four dynamical cores are provided under their respective names: CAM_SE_results, CAM_FV3_results, CAM_MPAS_results, GungHo_results. As the entire four-dimensional outputs for the wind and temperature fields (time, z/p level, lon, lat) are too large to store here, we give data at the end times of the simulation and interpolated to z=300m, which is used to create the comparison figures in the paper. Complete data files can be made available upon request or by running the simulations on one's own computer.
