Alternative fuel bus fleet by fuel type: Netherlands 2019-2020

In 2020, the Netherlands counted some 1,900 alternative fuel buses in its fleet. This year-on-year increase of over a quarter on its 2019 volume was most visible in the rapid rise of battery electric vehicles, which shot up in 2020. By contrast, liquefied natural gas remained a less popular fuel option, only counting two units in 2020.
