We first describe a methods approach to differentiating THP-1 monocytes to macrophages with M0-like genotype. Then we describe the effect that different glioblastoma supernatants have on the gene expression profiles of macrophages, suggesting gliomas should be considered different diseases. Overall design: Differential gene expression analysis of RNA-seq data for THP-1 monocytes, differentiated macrophages, and those same macrophages treated with different glioma supernatants.
