Areas of Concern

This map is based on tribal citizen interviews conducted under the Traditional Ecological Knowledge of Keystone Marine Species and Ecosystems project. This project was led by the Tolowa Dee-ni' Nation, in partnership with the Cher-Ae Heights Indian Community of the Trinidad Rancheria, Wiyot Tribe, and InterTribal Sinkyone Wilderness Council. For the interviews, a digital data survey tool was developed by Ecotrust that included a total of fifty-seven (57) questions. This map represents the responses to two (2) of those questions. This is a "heat map" of areas where interviewed tribal citizens are concerned about the health and/or abundance of one (1) or more of the five (5) cultural-ecological keystone species. These species include abalone, clams, mussels, seaweed, and smelt.

本地图基于《基石海洋物种与生态系统传统生态知识》项目框架下开展的部落公民访谈资料编制。该项目由托洛瓦·迪尼民族（Tolowa Dee-ni' Nation）主导，联合特立尼达牧场里亚切-阿伊高地印第安社区（Cher-Ae Heights Indian Community of the Trinidad Rancheria）、威约特部落（Wiyot Tribe）及跨部落辛基昂荒野委员会（InterTribal Sinkyone Wilderness Council）共同实施。本次访谈采用生态信托（Ecotrust）开发的数字化数据调查工具，该工具共计包含57个调研问题。本地图展示了其中2个问题的访谈反馈结果。本图为热图（heat map），标注了受访部落公民存在担忧的区域——即这些区域内，五类文化生态基石物种中的一种或多种的健康状况与/或种群丰度引发了他们的关切。本次涉及的五类文化生态基石物种包括鲍鱼、蛤蜊、贻贝、海藻与胡瓜鱼。
