We developed a portable, genomics-based, point-of-care approach specifically tailored for identifying individual strains of complex fungal plant pathogens. Using targeted sequencing, we overcame limitations associated with the sheer size of fungal genomes and their frequent obligately biotrophic nature. This new method called Mobile And Real-time PLant disEase (MARPLE) diagnostics enables rapid identification of both newly emergent strains and those with specific properties such as fungicide resistance.本研究开发了一种基于基因组学的便携式现场检测方法，专为鉴定复杂真菌植物病原菌的单个菌株量身打造。研究通过靶向测序技术，克服了真菌基因组规模庞大、且多数为专性活体营养型所带来的技术局限。这项被命名为移动实时植物病害（Mobile And Real-time PLant disEase, MARPLE）诊断技术的全新方法，可快速识别新出现的菌株，以及具备杀菌剂抗性等特定特性的病原菌菌株。
