Microbial synthesis of biopolymers from methane presents an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional plastics production. The effectiveness of mixed methanotrophic cultures for the production of polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) from CH4 was assessed, along with the impact of various co-substrates on PHA copolymer composition. The microbial community dynamics in a CSTR under various operational conditions are investigated.
