The Poverty and Inequality Platform (PIP) of the World Bank serves as the core database for the World Bank's estimates of poverty, inequality and shared prosperity. This platform provides global, regional and national-level data on poverty and inequality, covering over 170 economies. The data is derived from primary household survey data collected by national government statistical agencies and World Bank country departments, including multi-dimensional indicators such as the Gini coefficient and poverty rate, which can be used to track trends and monitor progress toward development goals.
