In a current BioProject, we share results of the longitudinal 16S rRNA metabarcoding study of the piglets gut microbiota. The animals were fed with artificial diets supplemented with dried Candida utilis biomass. The control diet (standard commercial pig diet) consisted of wheat, barley, oats, soybean meal, fish meal, potato protein concentrate, and rapeseed oil. The alternative diets contained 3,6%, 7,3% and 14,6 % inclusion levels of dried yeast biomass with 47% crude protein content.The experimental animals were 28 days of age and with an average initial weight of 8 +/-1 kg. The zero samples were collected from cecum, ileum, jejunum, and colon of 7 sacrificed animals. The fresh droppings were collected weekly. The terminal sampling was performed after 4 weeks. The samples were collected from cecum, ileum, jejunum, and colon.The data is generated by Alexander K. Bekkelund in frames of the project “Foods of Norway”.
