Western blot images and quantification of samples generated from whole murine brain (yellow), vessels collected after enrichment (blue), and microvessels collected after enrichment and filtration (pink). Protein samples were probed for the relative levels of alpha-smooth muscle actin (aSMA), Claudin5, and platelet-endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1 (PECAM-1), with alpha-tubulin referenced as the loading control. This analysis provided greater insight into the output from each collection technique with respect to microvessel content.
