SAL011 - Butlih Salawati - Conversational questionnaire (Dialogue C, 'Visiting the suster')

This dataset contains a dialogue elicited using the Conversational Questionnaire method (François 2019, 'A proposal for conversational questionnaires') for Butlih Salawati with Siti Hariani Klasin (born 1983), Amelia Klasin (born 1979), Alwia Klasin (year of birth unknown), and Abdul Rahim (year of birth unknown), all native speakers of Butlih Salawati. The dialogue was Dialogue C ('Visiting the suster'). The session was recorded on 5 December 2019, in Kalobo village (Salawati island, Raja Ampat regency, Southwest Papua province, Indonesia). The recording of this session is split across two audio files, SAL011-01 and SAL011-02. The activity proved to be quite popular, and attracted quite a crowd of participants! The individuals whose names are known are given in the Documentation file; consent was only gained from two participants. The dataset also contains several photographs of the researcher with the participants, taken after the session. This dataset relates to the British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship 'Synchronic and diachronic investigations in Raja Ampat-South Halmahera, a little-known subbranch of Austronesian' (PF19\100004); additional fieldwork funds were provided by a British Academy Small Grant (SG1920\100342).
