Exposure to toxic metals triggers unique responses from the rat gut microbiota. Heavy metal rats

Sprague Dawley rats were exposed to three doses of arsenic (NaAsO2), chromium (Na2Cr2O7), nickel (NiCl2), cadmium (CdCl2), cobalt (CoCl2), or a vehicle control for one or five days via oral gavage. Fecal samples were collect prior to initial dosing and 24 hours post the final dosing.
