Database for review article on the ecological effects of microplastics in freshwater ecosystems

This database was used to produce a review article on the ecotoxicological effects of microplastics in freshwater ecosystems and provide recommendations to improve the ecological relevance of microplastic toxicity research. This database contains information on particle characteristics, species teseted (and their functional groups), ecotoxicological endpoints tested and effects recorded, plus other information (e.g., chemical additives tested, use of natural particle controls). The database would be useful for researchers starting out in the field to quickly identify key knowledge gaps.
