The “DYE labeling of diatom silica” (DYEatom) cruise was a multi-faceted, study ondiatom bloom dynamics and silicon cycling conducted aboard the R/V Point Sur 27 June – 5 July 2013. The magnitude of PAR just below the surface (I0) was used to determine the depths at which PAR was 55%, 22%, and 1% I0. Samples for 16S and 18S rRNA and metatranscriptome sequencing were collected from these depths.

“硅藻硅质标记（DYEatom）”科考航次是2013年6月27日至7月5日依托科考船“Point Sur”号开展的一项多维度研究，聚焦硅藻水华动力学与硅循环过程。该研究以表层下方的光合有效辐射（Photosynthetically Active Radiation, PAR）强度（记为I₀）为参照，用以确定光合有效辐射分别为I₀的55%、22%和1%的水深。研究人员从上述水深点位采集了用于16S核糖体RNA、18S核糖体RNA及宏转录组测序的样品。
