Paper data and results_The impact of management environmental attention on the high-quality development of heavily polluting enterprises: Evidence from China

Environmental attention to management has important impacts on improving corporate environmental governance, avoiding the risk of environmental violations and damage to corporate reputation and promoting the high-quality development of enterprises. Using a sample of China's A-share listed heavily polluting firms from 2010--2022, this paper evaluates management environmental attention through text analysis and empirically investigates the effects, mechanisms and heterogeneous characteristics of the impact of management environmental attention on high-quality development of enterprises, represented by the growth of total factor productivity (TFP).

管理层环境关注度对完善企业环境治理、规避环境违规风险、维护企业声誉以及推动企业高质量发展具有重要作用。本文以2010-2022年中国A股上市重污染企业为研究样本，通过文本分析方法测度管理层环境关注度，并以全要素生产率（Total Factor Productivity, TFP）增速表征企业高质量发展，实证检验了管理层环境关注度对企业高质量发展的影响效应、作用机制与异质性特征。
