An Intervention for Connectedness with Theists and Agnostics

460 participants, including 230 self-identified agnostics and 230 self-identified theists, completed a contemplative exercise involving viewing a series of images. Control groups viewed the images and contemplated them using neutral prompts. Intervention groups viewed the images and contemplated them using theistic prompts. Both groups completed measures of their state awe before and after the intervention, in addition to answering demographic questions.

本研究共纳入460名参与者，其中230名自认为不可知论者(agnostic)、230名自认为有神论者(theist)，所有参与者均完成一项包含观看系列图像的沉思任务。其中，对照组(control group)参与者观看图像并采用中性提示语开展沉思活动，干预组(intervention group)参与者则通过有神论提示语进行图像沉思。两组参与者均在干预前后完成了状态敬畏感(state awe)的测评，并填写了人口统计学相关问卷。
