Accurate partitioning of precipitation into infiltration and runoff is a fundamental objective of land surface models tasked with characterizing the surface water and energy balance. Temporal variability in this partitioning is due, in part, to changes in prestorm soil moisture, which determine soil infiltration capacity and unsaturated storage.

将降水准确划分为入渗(infiltration)与径流(runoff),是旨在表征地表水量与能量平衡的陆面模型(land surface models)的核心目标。该分配过程的时间变异性,部分源于暴雨前土壤含水量(prestorm soil moisture)的变化,该变量决定了土壤入渗能力(soil infiltration capacity)与非饱和储水量(unsaturated storage)。
