16S amplicon Sequencing of 2 Red Flat Bark Beetles

Our study investigated the microbial composition of two red flat bark beetle species, Cucujus haematodes and Cucujus cinnaberinus, and their association with host tree species. Study showed that the interaction between beetle species, their habitats, and microbial communities can provide insight into their ecological roles and aid in their conservation, filling a gap in understanding saproxylic beetle microbiomes and emphasizing the need to consider host species and environmental factors in insect-microbe interactions.

本研究针对两种红扁树皮甲虫（red flat bark beetle）物种——Cucujus haematodes与Cucujus cinnaberinus的微生物组成，及其与寄主树种的关联展开了调查。本研究表明，甲虫物种、栖息环境与微生物群落之间的互作关系，可为解析其生态角色提供洞见，并助力其物种保护；同时填补了朽木栖甲虫（saproxylic beetle）微生物组研究的认知空白，并强调在昆虫-微生物互作研究中，需纳入寄主物种与环境因子进行综合考量。
