Roberta Feldmaņa pneimatoloģiskie uzskati

Roberts Feldmanis, Dr. theol., senior pastor, Professor of Church history (1910-2002), reveals Lutheran dogmatics in his sermons. In his pneumatology, the spiritual world is separated from the material. The dividing line between the error and the truth is the Creed, which defines the faith in the Holy Spirit. The professor does not see the relevance of the filioque controversy between the Eastern and Western Church nowadays justifying his sola Scriptura position with John 20, 22-23. The Holy Spirit is God’s dwelling place among people, and only through Jesus Christ can we call God our Father, and only through the Holy Spirit can we call Jesus Christ our Lord. In anthropology of Feldmanis, a man is the receiver and the bearer of God’s spark, which manifests itself in the gifts of the Holy Spirit and in the stewardship. The fact that the Holy Spirit calls and enlightens people through the Gospel to call Jesus Christ their Lord, seeing His work of salvation for each of us, is, according to professor Feldmanis, the basis of the faith of all Christian people. Sin against the Holy Spirit is impossible for him, because a person cannot curse Jesus Christ after receiving the Holy Spirit. If it does happen, then the person has not received or has rejected the Holy Spirit. So homiletics were a sufficient tool for professor Feldmanis, to reveal the pneumatology of Lutheran dogmatics to his congregation.
