For years, Pacific white shrimp is one of marine species whichappears to be among the most commercialized species in marine aquaculture industryworldwide. Because of its importance on aquaculture industry andtrading value, shrimp aquaculture comes along with many concerns to farmers, such as shrimphealth, viability, growth, reproduction, and disease infection. White spot disease (WSD), inparticular, caused by white spot syndrome virus (WSSV), can spread very quickly in salinewaters and may lead to 100% shrimp mortality resulting in a massive loss to the farmers.Shrimp immunity, an important process involved in prevention and protection shrimp frompathogens, has been firstly studied. At present, it has been reported that the long noncodingRNAs (lncRNAs) play many regulatory function in biological processes as well as immunesystem in human and some other organisms. However, the role of lncRNAs in immune systemof white shrimp and its anti-viral activity remain unknown. Here, we aim to study how certainlncRNAs involve in immune system and exhibit its anti-viral activity upon WSSV infection.

目前已有研究表明,长链非编码RNA(long noncoding RNAs, lncRNAs)在人类及其他部分生物的多种生命活动与免疫系统中发挥诸多调控功能。
