Analysis of genome-wide genetic diversity in Turkish and reference Corylus (hazelnut) accessions

The European hazelnut, Corylus avellana, is one of the most economically important tree nut crops worldwide and is primarily produced in Turkey. Despite this we know little about the genetic diversity within hazelnut at the genomic scale. Here we use genome-wide restriction-site associated DNA tag (RAD) sequencing to compare 210 individuals and understand the evolutionary history and genetic diversity of wild and domesticated hazelnut.

欧洲榛（Corylus avellana）是全球经济价值最高的食用坚果树种之一，其主产国为土耳其。尽管如此，学界对榛属植物在基因组尺度下的遗传多样性仍知之甚少。本研究采用全基因组限制性酶切位点关联DNA标签（restriction-site associated DNA tag, RAD）测序技术，对210份榛属个体进行测序分析，以解析野生与驯化欧洲榛的演化历史及遗传多样性。
