Vaginal microbial diversity in metritic cows treated with dextrose

The goal of this study was to understand the impact of either antibiotic treatment or antibiotic alternative treatment (intrauterine dextrose) on the vaginal microbiome in dairy cows diagnosed with metritis. Samples were taken via a Metricheck device before treatment and then at two time points after treatment (about 1 week and about 2 weeks after commencement of therapy). Samples underwent 16S rRNA sequencing.
