Black carp (Mylopharyngodon piceus, family Cyprinidae) is among the Four Domesticated Fishes in China, which has been cultured more than one thousand years and is characterized with its fast growth and delicious taste. The Black Carp, native to eastern Asia, is a large (>1.5 m long), commercially important fish. To date, previous studies on the black carp have mainly focused on the fields of artificial culture, nutrition and feed, and disease prevention and control . Although some findings on the black carp transcriptome analysis are contained , there is a lack of basic genomics research data.

青鱼（Mylopharyngodon piceus，鲤科）是中国四大家鱼之一，其养殖历史已逾千年，以生长迅速、肉质鲜美为显著特征。该物种原产于东亚，为体型长达1.5米以上的重要经济鱼类。迄今为止，针对青鱼的既往研究主要集中于人工养殖、营养与饲料、疾病防控等领域。尽管已有部分青鱼转录组分析相关研究成果，但基础基因组学研究数据仍较为匮乏。
