Jornada Experimental Range Utilization Surveys

The "Jornada Experimental Range Utilization Surveys" contains data on the
utilization of grasses by livestock. Utilization was determined by taking large
samples of grazed and ungrazed heights for major grass species. Using
height-weight tables, it was possible to determine the percent utilization, or
percent of forage used, for pastures or ranges. These data are used to
determine how much forage was consumed by livestock on the range.
