Education in human rights from the perspective of teachers in the public network of Rio de Janeiro

ABSTRACT The objective of this work was to verify whether teachers from the metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro have the concern to teach human rights. A questionnaire was applied through the Google Forms platform, with objective and subjective questions, which were answered only by teachers of ensino médio, fundamental II and educação de jovens e adultos, which sought to identify human rights education practices developed by them in the teaching-learning process. From the data collected in the exploratory research, it was concluded that the public-school teachers, despite all the difficulties they face, seek to transmit values and attitudes of respect to human rights, and that, although their teachings are the fruit of their own experience as teachers and citizens, there is a concern to form character, besides only transmitting theoretical knowledge.
摘要 本研究旨在验证巴西里约热内卢都会区的教师是否具备开展人权教育的教学关切。研究通过谷歌表单(Google Forms)平台发放问卷,问卷包含客观题与主观题,仅面向中等教育(ensino médio)、基础教育第二阶段(fundamental II)及青年与成人教育(educação de jovens e adultos)阶段的教师发放,旨在识别他们在教学过程中开展的人权教育实践活动。基于本探索性研究收集的数据,本研究得出如下结论:尽管面临诸多现实困境,公立学校教师仍致力于传递尊重人权的价值理念与行为态度;尽管其教学内容源于自身作为教师与公民的实践经验,他们除传递理论知识外,还注重学生的品格塑造。
