WALES lidar data from A-Train underflights with HALO (Backscatter coefficient)
收藏资源简介:
This sub-dataset provides the downward looking lidar parallel backscatter profiles from the WALES high spectral resolution lidar collected during the NASA A-Train satellites overpasses conducted during the NARVAL-DEMO, NARVAL-1, NARVAL-2 and NAWDEX campaigns. The WALES instrument is part of the remote sensing payload of the German research aircraft HALO (High Altitude and Long Range). The dataset include the HSRL-derived parallel backscatter coefficient in the time frame +- 30 minutes around the A-Train overpass. The parallel backscatter coefficients were derived with the HSRL technique using an iodine cell. The data is provided on the same grid like the radar measurements from MIRA (10.5281/zenodo.19317830). This repository of subsetted WALES measurements is intended for long-term preservation and for use in future validation and process-studies related to aerosol–cloud–precipitation interactions and the remote-sensing capabilities of the A-Train satellites.
