Foreign population:The term foreigner refers to the nationality of the person. A foreigner in Spain, according to the Immigration Law 8/2000, of 22 December, is understood to be anyone who is not a national, and nationality is held according to the nationality of the parents, that is, by blood law. In other countries, nationality is given by the right of soil, that is, just because a person was born in a given country does he or she become a national of the country. This is the case of the United States.International migrant:According to the recommendations of the United Nations Statistical Division, an international migrant is a person who moves to live in another country, different from his or her country of habitual residence, in order to reside there for a period of at least one year. That is why not every foreigner is an immigrant.<br>The source of this information is the Municipal Register of Inhabitants on 1 January of each year. The municipal register is an administrative register whose formation, as well as maintenance and management, corresponds to each of the existing municipalities. Your data constitute proof of residence and address in the public area, reliable for all administrative purposes.<br>The register is a register of personal data regulated by the Law on Local Regime Bases and by the Data Protection Law. These data are: name and surname, sex, place and date of birth, nationality and National Identity Document or, if they are foreigners, the document that replaces it.
