Dataset on impact resistance of dactyl club of mantis shrimp-inspired fiber-reinforced composites

The low-velocity impact test was carried out in room temperature by the Instron CEAST 9350 impact machine, the weight of the impactor was 5.41 kg, the impact height was 377.21 mm, and the impact speed was 2.72 m/s, the impact energy was 20.01 J. The hemi spherical impactor with a radius of 8 mm was released in corresponding height to achieve the required energy. All the four specimens were fixed on the base by four rubber clamps. The low- velocity impact tests were repeated up to five times at the same point of every sample or until the laminate was significantly damaged.

低速冲击试验在室温下通过Instron CEAST 9350冲击试验机进行，冲击头重量为5.41 kg，冲击高度为377.21 mm，冲击速度为2.72 m/s，冲击能量为20.01 J。半径为8 mm的半球形冲击头从对应高度释放，以获得所需能量。四个试样均通过四个橡胶夹具固定在基座上。在每个试样的同一点重复进行低速冲击试验，最多五次，或直至层压板出现明显损伤为止。
