Sediment cores 506-51 from Maloye Shchuchye in the Polar Urals in northern Russia is 24 m long. The core was recovered in two-metre-long liners (= core sections) and numbered consecutively. All liners were divided into two approximately one-metre-long subsections, which were labelled -I (upper section) and -II (lower section). High-resolution optical core images of the core subsections were recorded with an ITRAX XRF core scanner at the University of Bergen. The dpi number of the images was not noted, but could be reconstructed to 130 dpi.Table 7 shows the correlation sheme of core 506-51 to core 506-48 and the resulting age-depth relationship.
