The discovery of the transferable colistin resistance-conferring mcr-1 gene was followed by numerous reports indicating its presence on various plasmids in multiple bacterial species poiting at a global geographic spread. However, systematic population-based data investigating the potential local zoonotic dissemination of mcr-1 in the community are lacking.This study presents the genomes of the mcr-1 positive E. coli isolates recovered from a large survey of backyard poultry farms in the Mekong delta, Vietnam. Fecal samples from chickens, farmers and controls (individuals from the same geographical are not involved in poultry farming) were screened for presence of antibiotic-resistant E. coli. The genome of the 22 isolates showing presence of the mcr1 gene were sequenced and analyzed.
自可赋予黏菌素(colistin)耐药性的转移型mcr-1基因(mcr-1)被发现以来,已有大量研究报道该基因存在于多种细菌的不同质粒中,提示其呈现全球地理扩散趋势。然而,目前仍缺乏基于人群的系统性研究数据,以探究mcr-1在社区内潜在的本地人畜共患传播情况。本研究公开了从越南湄公河三角洲地区大型散养家禽农场调查中分离得到的mcr-1阳性大肠杆菌(E. coli)菌株的全基因组序列。本研究采集了鸡只、养殖者以及对照人群(来自同一地理区域且未从事家禽养殖的个体)的粪便样本,针对耐药性大肠杆菌进行筛查。针对其中22株携带mcr-1基因的分离菌株,我们完成了全基因组测序与分析工作。
