Replication Data for: The translation of ‘transparency’ in the Canadian press: An inquiry into symbolic power

This corpus investigate the business sections of seven Canadian newspapers over a period spanning from 2001 to 2008 in English and in French. The newspapers are: The National Post, The Globe and Mail, The Toronto Star, The Gazette, La Presse, Le Devoir and Le Droit. For comparison purposes, a corpus made of Canadian bank's annual reports was also used. With the use of the monolingual concordancer WordSmith 6.0, we looked at the following keywords: transparency, opaque and their French equivalents. The results were treated in several Excel files.

本语料库（corpus）以2001年至2008年为时间跨度，收录了7家加拿大报纸的商业版面内容，涵盖英语与法语两种语种。涉及的报纸分别为：《国家邮报》（The National Post）、《环球邮报》（The Globe and Mail）、《多伦多星报》（The Toronto Star）、《公报》（The Gazette）、《新闻报》（La Presse）、《德瓦尔报》（Le Devoir）以及《权利报》（Le Droit）。为实现对比分析目标，本研究同时纳入了由加拿大各家银行年度报告构成的语料库。研究借助单语语境共现分析工具WordSmith 6.0，对关键词透明度（transparency）、不透明性（opaque）及其法语对应词展开分析。所有分析结果均整理存储于多个Excel文件中。
