Lab3- Field Sample Training with Animals

This lab took place in the grassland at York University near the Aviva Centre were data was collected on insects that were found there. Quadrats were used on both the mowed and tall grass area. 10 quadrats were placed on the mowed area and 10 placed on the tall grass area. When placing the quadrats, they were always placed two steps away from the last one. Once the quadrat was placed, it was then observed what insects that were found in each quadrat and the number of each insect was counted for as well.

本实验于约克大学（York University）靠近阿维娃中心（Aviva Centre）的草地开展，采集当地发现的昆虫相关数据。实验分别在修剪过的草地与高草区域布设样方框（quadrat）：修剪区共布设10个样方框，高草区同样布设10个样方框。布设样方框时，每个样方框与前一样方框始终保持两步间距。样方框布设完成后，需对每个样方框内发现的昆虫种类进行观测，并统计各类昆虫的个体数量。
