Rabbit anti-epitope serum inhibited sera from most patients with Graves' disease (n= 45) or lymphocytic hypothyroid disease (n=20) from binding to thyroid peroxidase (TPO). The mean level of inhibition was 41%, indicating the patients' sera contained antibodies to the epitope.
