L. tanakae is a common snailfish species in the coastal water of Korea, China and Japan. It has several economic impacts on marine aquaculture and fisheries due to its predatory behavior on juvenile Japaneses flounder and its commercial fishery activities in some Japanese and Korean localities. Moreover, it has unique morphological character of thin, loose and gelatinous skin without any scale which might help to unveil the mechanism of evolutionary adaptation of hadal snailfish species. Thus, here we report the De novo genome sequencing and annotated assembly of Liparis tanakae to survey its specific genes related to skin and skeleton by a histochemical method.
冈村氏狮子鱼(Liparis tanakae)是朝鲜、中国及日本沿海常见的狮子鱼类。由于其捕食日本牙鲆幼鱼的掠食行为,以及在日本、韩国部分地区的商业捕捞活动,该物种对海水养殖与渔业存在多重经济影响。此外,该物种拥有独特的形态特征——薄而疏松的胶状皮肤且无鳞片,这一特征或有助于揭示深渊狮子鱼的进化适应机制。据此,本研究报道了冈村氏狮子鱼的从头基因组测序(De novo genome sequencing)与注释组装,并通过组织化学方法(histochemical method)筛选其与皮肤和骨骼相关的特异性基因。
