Evaluating public health spending in the Philippines using an autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) approach

This study aims to identify the determinants of the Philippine public health expenditure to understand and help the country's policymakers address issues concerning the country's rising yet small share of public health spending. Using time-series data from 1961 to 2019, this study employed the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) approach to analyze the long- and short-run relationships between the Philippine national government’s health spending and select economic and health factors.

本研究旨在明确菲律宾公共卫生支出的影响因素，以助力该国政策制定者应对该国公共卫生支出占比偏低却持续攀升所引发的相关问题。本研究采用1961年至2019年的时间序列数据，运用自回归分布滞后（Autoregressive Distributed Lag, ARDL）方法，分析菲律宾中央政府卫生支出与选定经济及健康因素之间的长期与短期关联关系。
