Eating disorders patient numbers in China 1990-2019

A study estimated that almost 1.5 million people were suffering from eating disorders in China in 2019. Although less common in comparison to other mental health conditions such as depression or anxiety disorders, eating disorders is posing an even stronger challenge to the Chinese mental healthcare service, as the number of patients increased by more than 60 percent since 1990.
