Shiba Inu dogs are known to be highly susceptible to canine atopic dermatitis (cAD). In this project, the whole mitochondrial genome (mtDNA) of Shiba Inu dogs was sequenced to evaluate its association with cAD as well as gut microbiota. Twenty healthy dogs, 10 dogs newly diagnosed with cAD, and 10 cAD dogs who were already on the medical treatment were sequenced. The project is related to PRJEB53048.

柴犬（Shiba Inu）素来被认为极易罹患犬特应性皮炎（canine atopic dermatitis，cAD）。本研究对柴犬的线粒体全基因组（mitochondrial DNA，mtDNA）进行测序，以探究其与犬特应性皮炎及肠道菌群的关联。本次测序共纳入20只健康柴犬、10只初诊犬特应性皮炎患犬，以及10只已接受药物治疗的犬特应性皮炎患犬。本项目关联PRJEB53048。
