Power plants with a capacity of at least 1 MW are included in totals. Counties displayed in gray had no utility-scale renewable electric generation. Distributed generation, such as rooftop solar, is not included. Data is classified using Jenks Natural Breaks method. Projection is WGS 1984 California (Teale) Alberts (US Feet). Data sources are the California Energy Commission's Quarterly Fuel and Energy Report and the Wind Generation Reporting System databases.
