Assessment of Archaeology within Marine Aggregate

This project investigates how archaeology is considered within Environmental Statements (ESs) submitted for marine aggregate dredging licences. The study considered a selection of ESs dating from across the period for which thei production has been required in support of licence applications before focussing on ESs submitted since 1998, when the application procedure underwent major changes. The review uses key legislation and guidance from the last two decades as measures for best practice.

本项目旨在探究海洋采砂疏浚许可申报材料所附的环境报告书（Environmental Statements，ESs）对考古工作的考量方式。本研究首先选取了自要求编制环境报告书以支持许可申报以来全周期内的多份样本，随后聚焦于1998年以来提交的相关报告书——1998年该许可申报流程经历了重大变革。本次综述以近二十年的核心法规与指南作为最佳实践的评判依据。
