The COVID-19 News Dataset was created by ELCA Informatics, a Swiss company. It comprises over 10,000 links to news articles related to the COVID-19 pandemic, all published in Swiss media outlets since early January 2020. The dataset covers four languages: German, French, Italian, and English, and was primarily compiled by scanning the front pages of news sources and extracting their headlines. This dataset aims to assist researchers in analyzing Swiss public reactions to the pandemic, as well as how media outlets handle important topics associated with the pandemic, ultimately providing a basis for formulating better response strategies for similar events in the future.
