Local competitive environment and male condition influence within-bout calling patterns in túngara frogs

The data is made up of acoustic parameters for calls of wild tungara frog males calling in choruses of various sizes. Entire call bouts were recorded (using WM-D6C Sony tape recorder and a Sennheiser ME-66 shotgun microphone) for 24 males from beginning to end, and were then processed with SIGNAL (http://www.engdes.com/) to extract amplitude and spectral charactersitics for every call for that bout. Additionally, the number of males calling within 1m of the recorded focal male, the snout-vent-length and weight of the focal male, and air and water temperature where the focal male was calling were all recorded.

本数据集包含野生雄性泡蟾（Túngara frog）在不同规模鸣唱集群中发出的鸣唱声学参数。研究人员采用索尼WM-D6C磁带录音机与森海塞尔ME-66枪式麦克风，对24只雄性泡蟾的完整鸣唱序列进行了全程录制；随后借助SIGNAL软件（http://www.engdes.com/）处理录制素材，提取出每条鸣唱的振幅与频谱特征。此外，研究人员还同步记录了以下信息：聚焦录制个体1米范围内的鸣唱雄性数量、该个体的吻肛长与体重，以及其鸣唱时所处环境的空气温度与水温。
