Whitley Castle Geophysics Survey

36ha geomagnetic survey and 8ha of resistance survey over one of the best preserved Roman forts in Britain, and its immediate surroundings. Evidence for extra-mural settlement, remodelling of the defences and other structures, possible earlier features, medieval and post-medieval features.

本数据集针对英国境内保存最为完好的罗马要塞之一及其紧邻周边区域，开展了36公顷的地磁考古勘探（geomagnetic survey）与8公顷的电阻率考古勘探（resistance survey）。本次勘探所获证据涵盖城外定居点遗存、防御工事改建遗迹及其他建筑遗存、疑似早期人类活动遗迹，以及中世纪与后中世纪时期的相关遗迹。
