Replacing Phenyl Ring with Thiophene: An Approach to Longer Wavelength Aza-dipyrromethene Boron Difluoride (Aza-BODIPY) Dyes

In the orignial 1,3,5,7-tetraphenyl aza-BODIPY, replacing the phenyl rings with thiophene achieved significant bathochromic shifts. One of the target molecules, DPDTAB, emitting strong NIR fluorescence with a quantum yield of 0.46 in acetonitrile, is a very competitive NIR fluorophore.在原始的1,3,5,7-四苯基氮杂BODIPY（1,3,5,7-tetraphenyl aza-BODIPY）中，将苯环替换为噻吩（thiophene）可实现显著的红移（bathochromic shift）。目标分子之一DPDTAB是极具竞争力的近红外（NIR）荧光团（fluorophore），其在乙腈（acetonitrile）中可发射出强近红外荧光，量子产率（quantum yield）为0.46。
