This dataset collects and analyzes the total amount of intellectual property (IP) data and the proportion of various types of intellectual property of national technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Shangcheng District, Hangzhou. It also counts the number of enterprises with intellectual property rights among such enterprises, to understand the general situation of R&D and manufacturing technology-based SMEs in the region, and calculates the quantity ranges of different types of intellectual property, so as to help local technology-based SMEs formulate intellectual property strategies and receive application guidance.

The algorithmic rules for intellectual property data of technology-based SMEs in Shangcheng District, Hangzhou are as follows:
1. Data collection: Collect the quantities of invention patents, utility model patents and design patents of enterprises through third-party intellectual property retrieval websites, based on information such as region, IPC classification number of patents and patent names.
2. Data processing: Process the collected raw data by removing duplicate and missing data, and clean and classify the data.
3. Data calculation: Calculate the total number of intellectual property X related to technology-based SMEs in the region, as well as the quantity of each type of patent. The proportion of patents in the total intellectual property is calculated as (number of patents)/X; the proportion of trademarks is (number of trademarks)/X; the proportion of copyrights is (number of copyrights)/X.

Data application: According to the proportion ranges of various types of intellectual property, formulate intellectual property strategies and provide application guidance for enterprises of different scales, and reasonably arrange patent layouts.
