Spring Forecasting Experiment 2023: Preliminary Findings and Results

The Hazardous Weather Testbed (HWT) is a space in the National Weather Center Building in Norman, Oklahoma that facilitates forecasting experiments testing new concepts, tools, and algorithms developed at NOAA’s National Severe Storms Laboratory (NSSL), Storm Prediction Center (SPC), and their partner institutions. Conducted annually during the peak severe weather season since 2000, the Spring Forecasting Experiment, or SFE, is the longest running HWT experiment.

危险天气试验台（Hazardous Weather Testbed，HWT）坐落于美国俄克拉荷马州诺曼市的国家气象中心大楼内，旨在助力开展预报试验，以测试由美国国家海洋和大气管理局（National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration，NOAA）下属国家强风暴实验室（National Severe Storms Laboratory，NSSL）、风暴预测中心（Storm Prediction Center，SPC）及其合作机构研发的新概念、工具与算法。自2000年起，每年于强天气高发季举办的春季预报试验（Spring Forecasting Experiment，SFE）是持续时间最长的HWT试验。
